The Gordon Research Seminar on Chemical Reactions at Surfaces is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.
The focus of this meeting is on both computational and experimental methods addressing relevant problems involving chemical reactions at surfaces. This includes fundamental and applied studies investigating heterogeneous catalysis, interfaces relevant for environmental applications, interfaces in biotechnology, and energy-related technologies such as solar energy conversion, CO2 capture, or hydrogen production and storage.
The meeting will take off with a keynote lecture given by Prof. Gabor A. Somorjai (U. California, Berkeley), followed by three sessions spanning an assorted range of surface science methods and applications and devoted to oral research presentations by attendees. Two poster sessions will further allow the participants to exchange ideas about their research. All participants are strongly encouraged to attend the associated Gordon Research Conference "Chemical Reactions at Surfaces" that takes place immediately following the GRS.
