The 2013 Gordon Conference on the Chemistry and Physics of Liquids will present state-of-the-art research on liquids and closely related topics, emphasizing the best theoretical, computational, and experimental approaches. The Conference will present groups of talks on self-assembly, ionic liquids, crystallization/nucleation, biomolecular dynamics, supercooled water, and two sessions on interfacial structure and dynamics. The invited speakers represent a variety of scientific disciplines, including chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, and atmospheric sciences. The Conference will bring together investigators who are at the forefront of this field. It will provide opportunities for students, postdocs, and those new to this research area to present their work in poster format and exchange ideas with leaders in the field. At past meetings, the poster discussions have been animated and extensive, and the same engagement is anticipated at this meeting as well. Four student and/or postdoc poster presenters will have the opportunity to give short talks in the main program. The collegial atmosphere of this Conference, with programmed discussion sessions as well as opportunities for informal gatherings in the afternoons and evenings, provides an avenue for scientists from different disciplines to brainstorm and promotes collaborations in the various research areas represented.
