In most synthetic nanoreactor systems, catalyzed products cannot diffuse out of the nanoreactor in time leading to lower catalytic efficiency than expected. To address the diffusion problem, transient polymer micelles nanoreactors system were achieved by using 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide (EDC) as the fuel and activated esters as energy dissipating units, demonstrating the pathway dependent catalytic properties for the transient micelles: the product inhibition was observed or could be efficiently eliminated depending on re-loading EDC in the metastable stage or after the full dissipation for transient micelles.
