The paper discusses the means and methods of realising Lean Construction benefits in the construction of High Rise RC - Reinforced Concrete Framed Buildings by using new forms of materials - SCC, Self Compacting Concrete and WWF - Welded Wire Fabric in place of the conventional vibrated concrete ( CVC ) and manually assembled steel reinforcement.
Lean Construction deals with avoiding or minimizing waste of any resource thereby ensuring value enhancement both for the construction company and also for the constructed facility.
the two new forms of materials - SCC for concrete and WWF for steel reinforcement, are apt forms of construction materials, enabling the planner, designer and constructor to meet the criteria and core principles of Lean Construction.
Lean Construction identifies the following 8 types of Wastes:

* Not Utilizing Talent
* Transport
* Inventory
* Motion
* Over Processing
The two materials, SCC and WWF, are highly effective in reducing nearly 7 types of the above wastes.

Using tools like Value Management, Productivity and EVM, the paper analyses the various types of wastes reduced by using these two materials in cast-in-situ construction of RC high-rise structures.
