活动简介

The  International Conference on Microscope and XXXIX Annual Meeting of Electron Microscope Society of India  will be organized by EMSI in collaboration with IOP, NISER, IIT-BBSR, IMMT, ILS and CGCRI. This conference will provide a platform for eminent scholars from around the globe. To share their knowledge and perspectives on recent advances in Microscope in general and in particular with electron Microscope methods.

EMSI - 2018  includes a wide range of topics in Microscope related to materials' sciences across fundamental and applied aspects (physical, chemical and life sciences), engineering aspects,

Medicine (anatomy, dentistry, pathology, etc), nanoscience and nanotechnology. The conference focuses on study and utilization of various Microscope methods across the vast research areas. This conference provides a platform to deliberate on recent advances in imaging methods. Results using state- Of-the-art microscope facilities from India and outside would be the main focus of this conference. It is expected to have live demonstrations of many recent developments and showcase the latest in technology and new products in Microscope at the conference stalls To be put up By vendors.

Advanced Microscope Techniques : Electron Microscope methods (aberration corrected TEM & STEM, SEM and associated analytical methods, electron diffraction & crystallography, HRTEM, cryo-electron Microscope, in-situ heating, mechanical and electrical and other methods in microscopes, environmental Microscope, Microscope Based on microanalysis), Ion Beam Microscope (FIB, SIMS, ion microprobe, Helium ion Microscope), SPM, OIM, 3D-APT, Super-resolution Microscope, X-ray, Fluorescence Microscope, other combinatorial Microscope methods (such as insitu TEM - Ion beam, PEEM, AFM-Confocal-Raman, TERS, etc), integrated correlative light and electron Microscope, and other correlated microscopies related medical diagnostic tools (such as MRI, CT, PET scans).

Vision

The conference would also bring the industrial participants and government funding agencies so as to provide opportunities for finding out the funding opportunities in the areas of Microscope and related areas.

About Electron Microscope Society of India (EMSI)

Electron Microscope Society of India was inaugurated on 2nd December 1961 at Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics by Late Prof. SN Bose as a collective effort of several scientists including Prof. NN Das Gupta and Dr. (Mrs.) SM Sirsat. The first conference of The Society was formally registered with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies, Calcutta in March 1962. The foundation membership of the society consisted of about 50 members engaged in electron Microscope work in about 15 laboratories in India. Second conference of the society was held at Indian Cancer Research Centre, Bombay in July 1963. The EMSI society is headed by the President and would have General Secretary, Treasurer (s ) as the main office bearers.

For the sake proper representation and easiness in taking the Microscope across the various parts of the Country, the Society has been grouped in to five zonal chapters: North, East, West, South and Central zonal chapters. Each zonal chapter is headed by Zonal Chairperson With other team members.

The society is one of its kind having members from vastly different disciplines viz., Materials Science, Physical Sciences, Biological Science, Medical Science, Metallurgical Science, Forensic Science, Agricultural Science, Geological Science etc etc. similar, it has members from different parts Of India and while constituting the executive committee of the society. EMSI is happy to announce that the total membership has now stand at 1495 as on 1st October 2017.

Following the tradition, the society has been conducting annual meetings regularly, each time by one of the Zonal Chapters. The latest being in Chennai (Mammalapuram) in July, 2017. This was coupled organized by EMSI (south zone), IGCAR – Kalpakkam and IIT Madras ( www.emsi.org.in/emsi2017 )

The next International Conference on Microscope and annual general meeting is scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar (Odisha) during July 18 – 20, 2018 ( https://www.emsi2018.com/ )

The society is affiliated with International Federation of Electron Microscope Societies (now renamed as IFSM) ever since 1962 and in fact was its 15th Member at that time.
