The Qinghai Institute of Salt Lakes (QISL), ChineseAcademy of Science (CAS), is great honored to undertake the organization of the36th ICSC under the auspices of SSC and IUPAC. 36th ICSCwill bring together scientists from all over the world to provide an up-to-datediscussion in the field of solution chemistry.

Founded in 1965, QISL, CAS focuseson basic, applied, and high-tech research in geoscience, chemistry, andchemical engineering of salt lakes and related fields. Solution chemistry isthe crucial fundamental for salt lake resource exploration. ISL has performedvarious research on solubility, thermodynamics, solution structure, andsolid-liquid equilibrium of electrolyte aqueous solution in recent decades.Furthermore, QISL, CAS has long-history in salt lake resource exploration,process world-leading technologies in potassium and Lithium extraction in salt lakes by flotation, membrane separation or solventextraction etc.

The host city, Xining is the provincial capitalof Qinghai, is situated at the North West of China, in the Qinghai-TibetPlateau. The number of inhabitants is 230,000, the largest city in Qinghai-TibetPlateau. Lovely called as “SummerCapital”, Xining is famous for its cool and comfortable summer, it attractslots of visitors at home and abroad every year.
